Peru?!

Done! Bags are packed and I am now ready to hit the door, ready to start another journey to a place I have never been before.

South America had been on my bucket list for a while until last year when all the planets aligned and I was offered this opportunity to visit Peru with a group of friends. Later on, I accepted another trip for this year, in Mexico. So it seems like 2017 is all about interesting trips to new lands for me and I plan to breath it all in and enjoy every second of it.

So what is the plan?

Well, we leave today and return on the 14th of May. Several flights in front of us, but we are heading straight to Arequipa. A few days after and a bus ride away it’ll be Puno. Eventually, we aim to hit Cusco around the 4th of May so that we give ourselves enough time to acclimatise for the Inka Trail – to start on the 8th of May. Once we are back, around 12th of May, it’ll be a nice, long trip back to London, however with a one day stop in Lima.

Exciting! And challenging! 🙂 … but I am in it!

What are my thoughts right now?

That I need a coffee… 😀 and that I am happy I am done with packing! This was definitely a challenge in itself. I feel like I passed already one of the “mountains” for this trip. There’s so much preparation that one needs to do for such a trip. You basically start 8 months before, just to make sure you buy the Inca Trail trek pass. They only give 300 passes per day, including porters. So you have to be fast and really determined to do it!

I am also very pleasantly surprised wih the number of people that have come together to help me with different items, check lists, advices and eventually great wishes for me in this trip. I am so lucky to have met and become friends with so many amazing people… and in such a short amount of time. Anyway, I don’t want to go there (only Age is the crying one haha).

So yeah, all packed, hoping that I’m not forgetting anyhing. Even if I am, there is no space left anywhere. This is it!

Drum bun for me! 🙂
